Special Considerations for Selective Mutism in the Educational Setting

Hosted By: Annie DiVello, M.S., CCC-SLP, M.Ed., Consultant & Renowned Expert in Selective Mutism

2.0 contact hour(s) / 0.2 ASHA CEUs

This course is intended to help school-based professionals begin to deepen their understanding of the needs of students with selective mutism. Attendees will learn what SM is and what it isn’t, deepen their awareness of the inner experience of a student who has SM, and develop an increased understanding of eligibility and school-based supports for this population. The importance of a “round table” approach will be discussed and the roles of various team members will be demystified.

This is a FREE presentation, for BTS employees. Continuing education certificates will be provided.  As this is a ‘next step’ training, it is recommended that attendees already have some familiarity with selective mutism before attending this course.
